Getting Ready to Move On.

Well, today is moving day.  We have to settle up one thing with the service manager and then we are on the road.  We’ll just drive on the quickest roads to Knoxville today, arriving this evening.  We had planned to visit quite a bit of stuff this week between here and there but these delays here ate up the time.  Oh well.  It’s been an interesting experinece and having the new roof really adds to our feelings about the coach.  cool.

We be done…. I think?

Today was a frustrating day.  When we took our rig over to the service bay it was 7:30 a.m.  We got it back, done to the best we can figure at 2:00 p.m.  In those hours they managed about one hours work.  After the first hour or so of nothing much happening I just started questioning them continously and finally they sent a man who stuck with the tasks and I helped him and we got done.  I can be lots of help…Honest.

Today the stuck 2 brads in a 20 inch long byh 1/2 wide trim piece in the closet.  The screwed a stiffner inside the closet door- 4 screws.  The stuck about 4 brads in two pieces of trim designed to hide the gaps they left in the new cabinets, and they straigthened up a hinge on a cupboard.  I think that’s it.  Wow, only 7 hours and all that!

We bought and installed a new mattress today, tonight should be different from the side by side canoes we have had the last several months.  We are moved back in and have both computers up, the groceries back in the cupboards and now, tomorrow we’ll get the rest of our stuff re set in the proper places.

Thursday we head to Knoxville.

Still Half Done but….

Well after a full three weeks in the shop, we arrived in Red Bay today about 2 p.m. There were people all over the rig but it was no where near done. I was told that they would be done before noon. Oh well. The roof is done. The air conditioners, the vents and skylights are all installed. They installed the new cellular antenna but not in the spot I wanted it. I won’t complain but may move it later on. They installed my solar panels and almost got them right but I won’t complain, even though I might move them later on.
They were installing the new kitchen cabinet and bedroom closet when we got there. They look much nicer than the old ones which were damaged by the leaking roof.
The new cieling inside is different. The old cieling was a carpeted deal, this is a fake leather stuff. Nice but different. It is in side to side sections while the old one was a one piece deal. We’ll see how that plays out for look and feel after we get into it. Might be like stripes on your shirt, you know where the up and down ones make you look tall, the side to side make you look fatter.
We are now in a hotel 20 miles up the road from the rig. This is paid for by Tiffin which is nice of them. I would trade it for my rig being done but Monday will tell.
We plan on doing some touristing in the area this weekend.
